Congratulations to Southminster Executive Chef Ryan Forte, Chef d’Cuisine Phillip Platoni, and Director of Culinary Services Salem Suber for their win in the Chef Wars competition! The event was sponsored by The Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte and featured chefs from six local retirement communities.
Chefs Ryan and Phillip won Best Entrée for their Wild Turkey Farms Pork Tenderloin with Smoked Stone-ground Grits, Neuske Bacon and Hazelnut Gremolata, Herb Demi-glace and Carrot Puree. They also brought home the runner-up prize for Best Dessert: Baked Buttermilk Pie with Brulee Mixed Berries and Cinnamon Whipped Cream.
