This morning residents teamed with students from Quail Hollow Middle School for a campus walk to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The students have adopted JDRF as its charity organization for the year, and Southminster is helping them raise funds. The residents and students walked together around the perimeter of Southminster’s campus and enjoyed socializing afterward while they refueled with water and granola bars. The school’s talented band also performed during the event. Last Fall, the students helped Southminster raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. This is just one of many inter-generational and community outreach events the students and residents have enjoyed together.
