Southminster is the result of a partnership between Christ Episcopal Church and Myers Park Baptist Church who shared a common vision of an ecumenical, non-profit, retirement community.
Southminster is a non-profit, Life Plan community offering a full continuum of care, located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, North Carolina. As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), we are accredited by CARF-CCAC (The Continuing Care Accreditation Commission), the nation’s only accreditation program for continuing care retirement communities, and fully licensed by the North Carolina Department of Insurance and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Founded in 1987, Southminster opened its doors to an elegant and traditional community designed to meet the expectations of mature and discerning Charlotteans. It was an immediate success. As Southminster grew, new residents moving into the community requested larger homes, state-of-the-art workout and wellness facilities, the finest medical care, and choices in high quality dining experiences. Today, Southminster leads the way in the providing the very best services, education and accommodations for healthy aging. Southminster’s board of directors and management team continue to develop and refine its’ long-range plan for renovating and expanding the community in keeping with 21st century expectations. In 2017, Southminster celebrates its 30th year anniversary.
