Your Doctor is In…at Southminster!
Memory & Movement Charlotte patients who live at Southminster can now have their appointment onsite! Last year Memory & Movement Charlotte launched their first satellite clinic at Southminster, offering convenient, compassionate care right at home for our residents and others who live nearby.

Memory and Movement at Southminster
Memory & Movement Charlotte has enjoyed a long relationship with Southminster. Since 2015, the community has supported the nonprofit practice through scholarships and educational program support, and many MMC patients live there.
“An onsite clinic was a logical next step,” explains Ben Gilchrist, Southminster’s president and CEO. “We strive to support and provide access to resources that keep our residents healthy and independent, and MMC is a community partner in that effort. We appreciate MMC’s approach to care, and believe it makes sense to use our space this way.”
The clinic operates on a rotating schedule, with MMC clinicians scheduled on alternating days and weeks. Current and new patients who live at Southminster are invited to schedule appointments at the satellite clinic, and others are welcome to request the new location.
“The Southminster satellite is perfectly timed,” says executive director Janet LeClair. “Last summer we moved our primary clinic to a larger space, and, Southminster provides an additional convenience for patients as well as expanded outreach opportunities. We are glad to meet more Southminster residents and welcome new families to the practice.”

Southminster Patient Scholarship
The Southminster Patient Scholarship program was designed to eliminate financial barriers some patients and caregivers face when attempting to access quality care in our region. Specifically, the scholarships assist families who need help affording Memory & Movement Charlotte’s annual fee and also help offset the cost of clinical services for patients who need assistance.
“We are committed to treating every family in need of our services, regardless of their ability to pay,” said Dr. Charles Edwards II, M.D., Founding Physician at Memory & Movement Charlotte. “Scholarship support makes it possible for us to keep that promise in a way that is financially sustainable. We are deeply grateful to Southminster for their critical role in helping us meet the increasing demand for compassionate, comprehensive care.”
