Award-winning journalist and author Michael Graff will lead the afternoon’s conversation with Mark Nepo. Known for his gift for uncovering the stories that connect us to one another, Graff has spent more than two decades telling the stories of people, places, and communities across North Carolina and the South. His work has appeared in publications including The Guardian, POLITICO, Garden & Gun, and ESPN, and he is widely admired for his thoughtful interviewing style and ability to draw out meaningful, authentic conversations. Together, Graff and Nepo will explore themes of purpose, resilience, and what it means to live a life of meaning.

Mark Nepo is a poet and spiritual teacher who has taught in the fields of poetry and spirituality for over 50 years. With over a million copies sold, Mark has moved and inspired readers and seekers all over the world with his #1 New York Times bestseller The Book of Awakening. In his 30s Mark was diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma, a struggle which helped to form his philosophy of experiencing life fully while staying in relationship to an unknowable future.
