Volunteer Opportunities

The volunteers at Southminster are so important because they provide our residents opportunities and companionship they often miss when their friends and/or family are not available to them. As a volunteer, you will enhance our residents' well-being by allowing them to be more active physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Each volunteer will be assigned an opportunity based on his or her particular interest/talent. These do not require a lot of time, and we are sure to work with your schedule. Below are just a few ideas of how our volunteers contribute.

  • Take a resident for a wheelchair ride
  • Eat a meal with a resident
  • Call Bingo
  • Assist with Chapel services
  • Play a game with the residents (board games, card games)
  • Provide an educational program or a travel log
  • Assist with special events
  • Plant or re-pot a flower for a resident
  • Recruit a group to come entertain the resident
  • Donate flowers to our chapel and other areas of our building
  • Decorate our bulletin boards and common areas

If you should decide to share your time with our residents, you will be joining a community that is committed to excellence of care and service. We know you will be embracing upon a gratifying and rewarding experience! If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to access our Volunteer Profile form.
