A continuing care retirement community (CCRC) offers a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care, all in one community. Most residents move into the community on an independent basis and live a carefree lifestyle full of activities and social events.

If a resident's health needs should change, assisted living and skilled nursing are available on-site, so the resident doesn't have to worry about moving to a different community to get the care they need. Some communities, like Southminster, will accept residents directly into assisted living or skilled nursing if space is available.
